'ar' Words

This week we began learning 'ar' words. To help them remember the sound that 'ar' makes when it's in a word, I have the students cut out a star, that I help them draw, and write ar in the middle.  We also played this matching game today in centers.

Counting by Fives

I just posted a quick, fun center on TPT...It's a matching activity where the student must match the number to its correct word then record the matches on the recording sheet.

Halloween Bingo, Monsters and Scarecrows!

I found the cutest game today at Artsy-Fartsy Mama. I'm thinking we can use it for centers during "Fun Friday".  Here's the set!

 Also today we read

During the story, the kids held the shoes, the pants, the shirt, hat, gloves and the pumpkin head! They had so much fun shaking everything when it was their turn. Then we made the scarecrow and it's sitting outside our classroom door. The whole school loves it!

Finally, we made our monster glyphs. I got these from Deanna Jump. We read these books

     
Then we made our glyphs. I did change it a little. I had them write about their monster by describing them according to the glyph. I think they turned out great!
